This year's Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Long Beach, California saw more zero emission vehicles (ZEV) and fleets than ever before. The ride and drive event proved to be especially popular.

CCJ talked with several fleets including Ryder, FedEx, Werner, NFI and others to get their impressions of several all-electric and hydrogen fuel cell trucks and vans. They also shared some of their fleet plans and insights into ZEV adoption.

“We’re open to everything at this point,” said Werner’s senior product director Neil MacLeod. “We’ll look at those smaller route, under 150-mile, dedicated fleet scenarios and we’ll also look at over-the-road where we can hit 500 [to] 1,000 mile scenarios as well.”

Hear more from MacLeod as well as his impressions of the Hyliion ERX Class 8 hybrid in the video above.
