Bangor, Maine-based Pottle’s Transportation and the West Virginia Motor Truck Association are the winners of the third annual Mike Russell “Good stuff” Trucking Image Award, which was presented by the American Trucking Associations last month at its annual meeting in Las Vegas.
ATA said that Pottle’s has been a great promoter of the trucking industry and has been giving back to the community while at the same time telling the industry’s story. Its efforts include educating students about highway safety, working with state and federal legislators, and spearheading community projects, ATA said.
WVMTA always is looking for new ways to promote the industry, ATA said. Its efforts included hosting ATA for a Share the Road event on the steps of the West Virginia state capitol and nominating the association’s chairman for Business Man of the Year. WVMTA continues to educate public officials and the media on how safe and essential trucking is, ATA said.
The award honors those that creatively generate positive awareness of the trucking industry. Submissions were evaluated by an impartial panel of judges based on creativity, execution and reach/impact. The award is named in honor of the late Mike Russell, a trucking industry supporter and media official who helped develop the “Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.” campaign as ATA’s vice president of public affairs.
