Occupational Sleep Apnea Solutions launched a proprietary Web-based software designed to enable corporations to efficiently manage the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea for its employees. OSAS says the automated software allows employers to implement and manage a sleep apnea program involving demographic screening, coordination and management of in-home testing and/or sleep laboratory diagnosis, coordination and management of PAP treatment, follow-up and compliance monitoring, outcome and statistics reporting, and simplified automated billing and collection services. Subscribers now have complete access at a reduced rate to the course library, which includes topics covering workplace safety, driver/DOT, construction, hazardous materials, human resources and laboratory safety.

National Private Truck Council honored 12 private fleet truck drivers as its first National Driver All-Stars during its National Safety Conference in September. NPTC initiated the program to recognize drivers for NPTC fleet member companies based on how they perform against internal customer service metrics. Specific measures of the recognition include customer service, safety, compliance with company standards, regulatory compliance and community service.

Ruan Transport driver Bruce Banwell received the Million Mile Safety Award in recognition of his one million miles of accident-free driving for the Des Moines, Iowa-based company. Banwell, who retired in 2003 and now works part-time for Ruan, has driven for the company for 17 years.
