Donaldson Co., a Minneapolis-based worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, announced that it is hosting a grand opening ceremony today, Dec. 15, to celebrate the completion of its facility expansion in Gurgaon, State of Haryana, India. Bill Cook, chief executive officer, is attending the ceremony, along with many key customers and dignitaries from the local government.

The Gurgaon facility opened in 1994 to manufacture gas turbine intake air filters. Manufacturing capacity was expanded in 1999 with the establishment of the air intake filtration manufacturing capability for diesel-powered on- and off-road equipment, including trucks, tractors and construction equipment. This most recent capacity expansion triples the size of the existing plant and also includes an in-house product design facility to support local OEM and aftermarket customers. This expansion will produce air filtration products and hydraulic filtration systems for the diesel engine equipment and gas turbine markets.

“I am very excited about our expansion in Gurgaon,” Cook says. “With this significant investment, we will be positioned well to serve our customers throughout India. We thank our employees, our customers, our suppliers and the local government officials for their support.”

Jay Ward, senior vice president of Engine Products, says India is a thriving market for Donaldson’s filtration technologies. “We anticipate that our expanded local design and manufacturing presence will bolster sales and after-sales service to our OEM, independent aftermarket distribution and end-user customers in India,” Ward says. “We completed our expansion of the facility on schedule and are pleased to host this grand opening.”

As part of the grand opening, Donaldson is launching its new XRB12 Air Cleaner product, which is designed to be smaller with improved handling and easier maintenance for end-users.
