Mobile Wireless Technologies’ RM1200g intelligent AVL transponder is equipped with a field-proven data radio and an integrated 12-channel GPS receiver. It also allows easier mobile expansion capability by providing direct access to two external serial communication ports, the company says.
PDAs, laptops, printers and other serial devices can be directly connected to the RM1200g into separate serial ports, thus eliminating “Y” cables, re-plugging devices and the use of more expensive serial port multiplexers.
The RM1200g is envelope sized and is easy to install in vehicles. Standard versions of the RM1200g are available to transport data over Motient or Cingular Wireless data networks.
