Hino Diesel Trucks introduces its 2002 lineup of Class 4-7 cabover trucks. The Class 4 truck series features a GVW rating of 15,000 pounds and a GCW rating of 21,000 pounds. The FA model features a 4-valve overhead cam, 4-cylinder diesel engine with a hp rating of 168 at 2500 rpm. A 5-speed direct drive synchromesh transmission or a 4-speed Allison AT542 automatic transmission is available. Wheel bases range from 115 to 165 inches.
The Class 5 FB series features a GVW rating of 17,600 pounds and a GCW rating of 26,400 pounds. It features the same engine and optional transmissions as the FA model and can accommodate 14- to-18-foot truck bodies.
The Class 6 FD truck features a GVW rating of 23,000 pounds and GCW rating of 35,000 pounds. It is powered by a 4-valve overhead cam, 6-cylinder diesel engine. The hp rating is 200 at 2500 rpm. A 6-speed overdrive synchromesh or Allison 2400P World transmission is available. The wheel base range is 148 to 217 inches.
The Class 6 FE and Class 7 FF feature a 4-valve overhead cam, 6-cylinder diesel engine which produces 252 hp at 2500 rpm. Both are available with a 6-speed overdrive synchromesh or Allison 2400P World transmission. The FE features a GVW rating of 25,995 pounds and a GCW rating of 40,000 pounds. The FF has a GVW rating of 30,000 pounds and a GCW rating of 45,000 pounds.
The Class 7 SG series have a GVW rating of 32,900 pounds and a GCW rating of up to 50,000 pounds. A longer wheelbase of 244 inches is available. The SGs feature a 4-valve overhead cam, 6-cylinder diesel engine with a hp of 252 at 2500 rpm. A engine-driven PTO option is available with either a manual 6-speed or Allison 5-speed automatic transmission.
