This year, Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company celebrates 100 years in the pneumatic tool industry. A century ago, J.W. Duntley partnered with young steel tycoon Charles Schwab and signed the incorporation papers. The tools CP crafted would help build at least four of the top ten construction achievements of the 20th century.
In World War II, CP produced the tools necessary to help fabricate, assemble and maintain the nation’s military equipment.
In 1945, Chicago Pneumatic established a separate division to concentrate on its automotive service tools. Countless consumer and military vehicles, racecars, airplanes, tractors and buses have been built and repaired with CP air tools.
With international headquarters in Rock Hill, S.C., and offices in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, South Africa, Southeast Asia, Sweden and the United Kingdom, Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of pneumatic tools for the automotive, industrial and construction markets.
