Qualcomm last month announced that it had successfully converted FleetAdvisor to the Windows CE platform and is making the new version available commercially. The system, which Qualcomm acquired from Eaton Corp. about a year ago, consists of Qualcomm’s MVPc in-vehicle computer; the OmniTRACS or OmniExpress mobile communications system; on-board software and host-based software. It combines the functionality of a full-function onboard computer, vehicle tracking, integrated back-office software and real-time wireless communications. FleetAdvisor runs the applications demanded most by private fleets: paperless driver logs, accurate state mileage reporting and improved route management, Qualcomm says.
