Nexiq Technologies’ eTechnician will enable wireless access to Cummins’ RoadRelay 4 – a dash-mounted unit that captures, displays and records critical engine and vehicle data.

eTechnician is a real-time, remote, wireless command and control solution, delivered through an application service provider, enabling the remote monitoring, diagnosis and reprogramming of commercial vehicles, regardless of location.

Also, says Nexiq, which recently moved its corporate headquarters from Manchester, N.H., to an expanded facility in Sterling Heights, Mich., eTechnician will streamline the delivery of PowerSpec feature and parameter settings to Cummins engines.

Cummins PowerSpec platform is a Web-based service used by truck dealers, distributors and owners to create a custom program that establishes the features and parameters for Cummins engines, based on vehicle application and fleet objectives.

By adding eTechnician to PowerSpec, Cummins will enable wireless distribution of programming files directly to trucks, regardless of location.

And, ZF Meritor has selected Nexiq’s eTechnician diagnostic tool for its FreedomLine and SureShift transmissions. The wireless system will provide remote, two-way messaging – including diagnostics and command/control applications – between vehicles and ZF Meritor technicians and dealers.

Next, Penske Truck Leasing, a user of Nexiq’s Pro-Link diagnostic device, is purchasing the company’s Magikey Parallel Data Module (PDM) and Powerline Carrier Converter (PLC). Both products are vehicle-to-PC connectivity devices. The PDM captures and communicates vital truck data gathered by software from OEM manufacturers and vehicle diagnostic software developed by Nexiq.

And, finally, Penske has purchased a new PC integration service offered by Nexiq that integrates diagnostic software products from different heavy-duty manufacturers into a single platform. Nexiq is providing training and technical support to the Penske maintenance staff.
