TransCore (www.transportationsoftware.com) introduced Keypoint for Carriers, a basic version of its Keypoint Pro for Carriers software package. Targeted at small and medium-sized carriers, Keypoint for Carriers is sold on a subscription basis and is distributed with software and hardware prepackaged and ready to be plugged into a PC or network. The system handles daily business functions, including load matching, dispatch, driver and equipment tracking, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and provides access to TransCore’s DAT Services load and truck network.
Maddocks Systems Inc. (www.maddocks.ca) developed TruckMate for Windows (TM4Win) to run on the IBM DB2 universal database, giving the company an offering in every tier of the trucking industry and positioning TM4Win as the only Windows-based product for users of aging “text based” AS/400 software solutions. Maddocks notes that many larger fleets want Windows-based client-server software without having to switch from the reliability of their AS/400s, HP9000s and RS6000s.
Profit Tools Inc. (www.profittools.net) released version 3.5 of the Profit Tools for Trucking business, operations and e-commerce software. The latest version addresses the rail and ocean movement requirements of intermodal businesses and provides new automated features for LTL companies. Version 3.5 also offers more comprehensive features to all modes of trucking, including upgrades to automate settlements, fuel transactions and fleet reporting and increase the ease of performing dispatching tasks.
