Vistar Datacom announced that James Brown Trucking, Lithonia, Ga., will equip 1,000 trailers with Vistar Datacom’s GlobalWave satellite trailer tracking solution. Many customers pay extra to use the carrier’s trailers as temporary storage facilities, says company President James Brown.
Because the carrier’s trailers are parked for extended periods of time in a wide geographical area, dependable coverage and long battery life of un-tethered trailer tracking systems were his main reasons for choosing GlobalWave, Brown says. According to Vistar Datacom, the GlobalWave trailer-mounted units can go up to three years without being recharged or connected to a power source.
