Xata Corp. announced the upcoming release of XataNet version 2.0, which includes product additions and software enhancements to the XataNet fleet management solution. XataNet is a Web-based service that combines on-board computing with two-way satellite communications primarily for private fleets.
The 2.0 release adds new applications that focus on driver activities and communications. XataNet’s Driver suite includes: DOT driver logs, driver feedback, driver messaging and trip and driver management. XataNet’s Vehicle Basic package targets vehicle performance, automated fuel tax, asset tracking, diagnostics warnings and other fleet operational information.
The XataNet 2.0 release also includes enhancements to the core applications and server environment. Xata also announced a partnership with Orbcomm LLC to offer low-cost, two-way satellite communications to new and existing Xata customers starting in January.
