ConocoPhillips Lubricants Division, Houston, announced that Kendall Motor Oil has introduced a new formulation of its Super-D 3, 15W-40 engine oil. It incorporates new additive chemistry and a new shear-stable viscosity modifier.
The oil meets the higher oil performance requirements for API CI-4, API SL, Global DHD-1, ACEA E5, Cummins CES 20078 & CES 20077, Mack EO-N Premium Plus and Mercedes Benz 228.3.
The company also announced that 76 Guardol QLT 15W-40 and 76 Royal Triton QLT oils have been reformulated. Both products have been API CI-4 capable since 1999, and meet Global DHD-1, ACEA E5, Cummins CES 20078 & CES 20077, Mack EO-N Premium Plus, and MB 228.3 requirements. Both oils feature improved alkalinity reserve to help provide protection in extended drain or severe service intervals.
