Trucking industry technicians from all 50 states will compete at TMCSuperTech2005, the Technology and Maintenance Council’s inaugural national technician skills competition.

The Sept. 18-20 competition will be held in conjunction with TMC’s 2005 Fall Meeting at the Valley Forge Convention Plaza in Valley Forge, Pa.

The nation’s top commercial vehicle/truck technician will be determined through a variety of troubleshooting tests over the two-day event.

Contestants will begin competition with a challenge round consisting of a written multiple choice examination. The top 50 finishers will advance to compete in the Hands-On Skills Challenge.

Contestants will compete in a series of eight stations to showcase their knowledge of electrical systems, brakes, HVACs, engines, steering systems, preventive maintenance, drivetrains and service information.

The Grand Champion will receive an expense-paid trip of their choice to the 2006 Daytona 500, Super Bowl or an equivalent trip package, plus other prizes.
