Con-Way Western names Huner, Wyrick to director positions

Con-Way Western Express has announced the appointment of two new directors.

Kevin Huner was named director of linehaul, responsible for the night and daytime long-haul movement of all the less-than-truckload company’s freight in 13 states. Huner joined Con-Way in 1996 as a customer service representative in Coldwater, Mich., where he was promoted to freight operations supervisor and later promoted to freight operations manager. In 1998 he was named assistant service center manager and in 2000 was promoted to service center manager for the Con-Way Central Express service center in Salem, Ill. He joined CWX in 2004 as director of quality assurance. He will be based out of the CWX general offices in Buena Park, Calif.

Corky Wyrick replaces Huner as director of quality assurance, responsible for the initiation, management and compliance of all operations quality initiatives, including on-time performance and claims. He joined CWX in 1997 as a freight operations supervisor in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. He later was promoted to assistant service center manager for the facility. In 1998 he was named service center manager for the company’s Irvine, Calif. service center. He also will be based out of Buena Park.

“Together Kevin and Corky bring over 40 years of trucking experience to their new positions,” says Kevin M. Hartman, president of CWX. “The have both proven themselves in a variety of assignments to be at a level in our industry that makes them great candidates for their new responsibilities.”
