Truck trailer maker Beall Corp. has acquired a Washington manufacturing firm, a purchase that Beall says will help it meet customer demand for its aluminum tank and dump trailers. Terms were not announced.

The Thursday, Dec. 1 acquisition of Marquez Manufacturing in Sunnyside, Wash. includes a 40,000-square-foot plant that was updated recently, says Jerry E. Beall, chairman of Beall. The Sunnyside facility will produce about 200 trailers a year, adding $10 million to Beall’s projected sales revenue of more than $100 million in 2005, Beall says.

Beall has five manufacturing plants, 13 sales and service facilities, and dealers throughout the West, and employs more than 500 people. Beall sells about 1,200 trailers annually, ranking them as the third-largest bulk and tank trailer maker in the country and the largest maker of custom tanks, supplying many of the world’s largest petroleum companies.
