Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America has announced it has extended the warranty for its aftermarket Class 8 starter from one-year/unlimited miles to three years/350,000 miles.

Mitsubishi Electric says its starter weighs only 29 pounds, which should allow for easier installation, improved fuel economy and increased payload potential. This starter has a demonstrated ability to exceed the durability and output requirements found in today’s engines, and those engines to be used beyond 2007, according to the company.

“In addition to our recent warranty extension on our aftermarket alternator, we are now offering an improved warranty on our aftermarket starter to further enhance the Allmakes Aftermarket Program,” says Denis Bigras, director of heavy duty aftermarket for Northville, Mich.-based Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America.

Mitsubishi Electric says its Class 8 starter features many innovations and technologies that make it well suited to meet the demands of the heavy duty truck market: It utilizes a planetary gear reduction design, an integrated relay, a solid-link solenoid and electrical soft-start technology.
