Trucker Buddy, Wisconsin truckers raise funds for Gulf Coast schools

The Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association and Trucker Buddy International have raised funds to assist classrooms in the Gulf Coast area affected by Hurricane Katrina. WMCA members and other donors adopted nine classrooms in the Gulf area by sending a $250 donation to WMCA’s Trucker Buddy Fund.

The following schools had classes that were adopted:

  • Gulfview Elementary in Lakeshore, Miss., was adopted by Bay Motor Transport of Green Bay, Wis.
  • Phoenix School in Braitheaite, La., was adopted by Fairway Transit of Peewaukee, Wis.
  • Three Rivers Elementary in Gulfport Miss., was adopted by Klemm Tank Lines of Green Bay.
  • North Bay Elementary in Bay St. Louis, Miss., was adopted by Diamond Transportation of Racine, Wis.
  • St. Martin North Elementary in Biloxi, Miss., was adopted by The Siefkes Group of Issaquah, Wash.
  • Miller Wall Elementary in Marrero, La., was adopted by The Siefkes Group.
  • Raleigh Elementary in Raleigh, Miss., was adopted by Skinner Transfer of Reedsburg, Wis.
  • Buras Elementary in Buras, La., was adopted by the state Council of Safety Supervisors of Madison, Wis.
  • Waveland Elementary in Waveland, Miss., was adopted by WMCA of Madison.
