Schneider National has announced that John Ferguson has been named general manager, Canada. Specifically, Ferguson will lead the development and execution of business strategy in the Canadian marketplace, responsible for profitability across all lines of business as well as the alignment of key shared services.

“John has a proven track record of new business development and revenue growth, as well as extensive supply chain management and international trade expertise,” says Dave Geyer, vice president and general manager of truckload for Schneider National. “He is a strong addition to our team, and we look forward to the contributions he will make to the business strategy in Canada and to our international operations.”

Ferguson joins Schneider National from PBB Global Logistics, a provider of third-party international logistics services based in Fort Erie, Ontario. During his 18-year tenure with PBB, he had progressive responsibility in sales and marketing and was instrumental in the company’s evolution from a customs broker to a global logistics company. Ferguson currently serves as the director of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters and president of the Transportation Marketing and Communication Association, and is the first to serve as general manager of Schneider Canada.

Headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, Schneider Canada is the largest U.S.-based carrier in Canada and employs more than 750 Canadian drivers, mechanics and office associates.
