Landstar System has named Alexis Scheifele as January Employee of the Month at its Jacksonville, Fla. service center, and Allen Geeser as January Employee of the Month at its Rockford, Ill. service center.

Scheifele, who joined the company in April 2002, was recognized for her work as a freight coordinator in Landstar’s freight operations department. “Alexis takes ownership of record-keeping, and she maintains our documentation down to the smallest of details,” says Pam Ball, director of freight operations. “She is the lifeline to our regional staff and often is at her best when a problem that needs immediate attention arises.”

Scheifele makes her home in Jacksonville and also attends Florida Community College at Jacksonville. “Alexis is proof that with a little extra effort, everyone can have a positive impact on their company’s success, ” says Henry Gerkens, Landstar president and chief executive officer. “Her dedication and enthusiasm are a definite asset to Landstar.”

Geeser, an automotive coordinator who joined Landstar in March 1999, earned his turn in the spotlight for the high quality of service he delivers to Landstar’s network of independent agents and their customers. “Allen listens to what agents and customers want and then works to make it happen,” says Kyla Eastabrooks, automotive operations supervisor. “He juggles additional responsibilities on evening shifts and realizes that productivity is paramount to the overall success of our department.”

Geeser lives in Rockford with his wife, Debbie, and their two daughters. In his spare time, he teaches fire prevention at local elementary schools. “Allen’s dedication and hard work enables our agents to provide reliable service to customers,” Gerkens says. “He represents the best of Landstar.”
