Steve O’Connor, a Decker Truck Line flatbed driver for three years and a sergeant in the 56 BCT of the 36th Infantry Division in the Texas National Guard, recently returned home from a tour in Iraq. O’Connor left for an 18-month activation in July of 2004, and upon his return to the United States, Decker welcomed him back with a new 2006 Peterbilt tractor.

While stationed near the Baghdad International Airport, Steve served in logistics transportation. His missions consisted of force protection, in which he and his company provided post security, convoy escort security and additional security for the two major elections. Their company also provided security for Condoleezza Rice, Sen. Hillary Clinton and other American ambassadors.

Decker Truck Line, based in Fort Dodge, Iowa, is a diversified carrier transporting flatbed, refrigerated and dry van freight to the 48 contiguous states and seven Canadian provinces.
