F.T. Silfies, a Mid-Atlantic regional dry bulk carrier, has awarded veteran driver Terry Melton a Caribbean cruise for two on Carnival Cruise Lines for referring the most drivers for the second half of 2005.
“Our program gives our current drivers $1,000 in equal payouts as long as a referral driver makes it through their probation period, and the driver referring the most drivers wins the cruise,” says Randy Sheeler, president and chief executive officer of Nazareth, Pa.-based Silfies. “I’m happy for Terry, and it was my pleasure booking the cruise for him personally.
“While the rest of us are hard at work in mid-February, Terry will be sailing the Eastern Caribbean for seven days on the company,” Sheeler says. “That’s not a bad deal for simply liking the company you work for and telling other drivers about it.”
