Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems has named Jon Morrison general manager, where he will direct the joint venture’s strategic and operational business plans along with day-to-day management, according to the Meritor WABCO board of directors. He succeeds Denny Sandberg, who has resigned to pursue other business interests.

Morrison is a 25-year automotive industry executive, having served most recently as global director of sales and application engineering at Dana Corp. in Rochester Hills, Mich. Morrison will be based at the Meritor WABCO headquarters in Troy, Mich.

Meritor WABCO — a joint venture of ArvinMeritor and the WABCO Vehicle Control Systems business of American Standard Companies — produces electronic braking, stability, suspension and transmission control systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

“Jon’s leadership will enable our long-time joint venture to significantly grow by providing our valued customers with more advanced technologies that make a positive difference in fleets’ operations,” says Pedro Ferro, vice president of ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) Brake business, and a Meritor WABCO board member.
