For a second consecutive year, Celadon Trucking Services has been announced as the first-place winner of the Truckload Carriers Association’s National Fleet Safety Award among carriers that haul more than 100 million miles annually.

“Receiving this honor two years in a row is a true testament to our professional drivers’ commitment to safety on the road,” says Tom Glaser, president of Indianapolis-based Celadon. “We take pride in the effectiveness of our safety department’s training programs and being able to say our drivers are the best in the industry.”

The award marks the fourth time in five years that Celadon has been recognized by the TCA for its drivers’ safety performance. Celadon trucks travel more than 250 million miles each year.

“We’ve established an excellent reputation for safety in our industry,” says Glaser. “Our customers know they can depend on us to deliver their loads safely on time. The communities in which our trucks travel know they can expect the best from our drivers.”

The TCA National Fleet Safety Awards are determined by accident frequency per million miles driven in each of six mileage divisions, ranging from under five million miles for Division I to more than 100 million miles for Division VI. The top three companies in each division are audited by an independent expert to verify accident frequency numbers.
