Schneider National to hire 100 new drivers in Savannah, Ga.

Schneider National, the nation’s largest truckload provider, announced it is hiring 100 new professional truck drivers in the greater Savannah, Ga., area. The Green Bay, Wis.-based company plans to hire drivers for regional and over-the-road positions.

Schneider National says its growth in the region is fueled by new business, its recent acquisition of Savannah-based American Port Services and expanding relationships with clients in the area, including a consumer packaged goods company.

Nathan Meisgeier, president of Omaha, Nebraska-based Werner Enterprises, said his carrier is committing to hire 1,400 veterans over the coming year as part of the Freedom Haulers initiative.
