Two subsidiaries of YRC Worldwide Inc. are teaming up to deliver a new transcontinental service linking the Northeast to the Northwest. New Penn Motor Express and USF Reddaway will provide the westbound service to make it easier for customers to gain coast-to-coast coverage with one call to their regional service provider, YRC said in a written release Tuesday, Feb. 21.

New Penn and USF are subsidiaries of YRC Regional Transportation, which is a unit of Overland Park, Kan.-based YRC Worldwide Inc. Steve Gast, New Penn president, said in the release that the new service would provide customers in the Northeast with three-day delivery service to the Rocky Mountain states and four-day service “to most points beyond.”

Jim Staley, YRC Regional Transportation chief executive officer, said the partnership would allow faster transit times, improved reliability and superior service quality.
