Penske Truck Leasing Co. has named The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. its Supplier of the Year for the seventh consecutive year. According to Penske’s vendor quality rating, Goodyear was rated first among all tire suppliers. Goodyear, Penske’s primary supplier of replacement and retread tires in North America, also provides fleet management tools to lower overall tire costs.
“We have developed an excellent supply relationship with the Penske team, and we continuously look for ways to lower their cost-per-mile,” says Dave Beasley, director of Goodyear commercial tire sales. “It’s a business that we value highly.”
Penske Truck Leasing, headquartered in Reading, Pa., is a joint venture of Penske Corp. and General Electric. The company, a global transportation services provider, operates more than 200,000 vehicles and serves customers from nearly 1,000 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and Europe. Product lines include full-service leasing, contract maintenance, commercial and consumer rental, transportation and warehousing management and supply chain management solutions.
