Average diesel price up 1.6 cents

The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel almost completely made up for last week’s 2-cent drop by rising 1.6 cents, to $2.471, for the week ending Monday, Feb. 27. That’s 35.3 cents higher than a year ago.

The average diesel prices increased in all regions tracked by the U.S. Department of Energy. The West Coast again had the most expensive diesel in the country at $2.623. The Midwest again had the least expensive at $2.417.
