First Advantage Corp., a global risk mitigation and business solutions provider, has announced that its Transportation Services division has launched an expanded platform of services designed to ease the increasingly complex regulatory requirements and record keeping burdens facing trucking companies. In addition to First Advantage’s CompuNet Credit Report — which is designed to provide credit and payment history information on industry shippers and brokers — the Transportation Services division now offers comprehensive driver screening services and fleet management.

“First Advantage has such solid relationships with our trucking customers based on a tradition of great service that we felt we could successfully expand these relationships with new beneficial services,” says Billie Lee, president of the Transportation Services division for St. Petersburg, Fla.-based First Advantage. “We know the pains in the industry and are really excited to now offer some super solutions that include these critical services. Our unique combination of industry-leading services gives customers the convenience of a single-source solution from a reliable vendor focused on addressing the needs of a trucking company.”

The Transportation Services division’s expanded offering can deliver employment history verifications, CDLIS and motor vehicle records checks, criminal background checks, drug and alcohol testing and programs, driver qualification programs, fleet management and more. The services comply with Department of Transportation regulations, as well as other government and agency requirements, as applicable, or as requested by the customer in the case of nonregulated companies.

“This is an exciting and dynamic period for First Advantage Transportation Services as we begin redefining the scope of what carriers should expect from a partner,” says Lee. “Our newly expanded offering allows carriers to focus on the business of doing business.”

First Advantage also announced that Dean Ford has been hired to direct and manage its driver screening product, called Employment History Verification. As director of client relations, Ford will be responsible for managing service implementation, ongoing data expansion and customer service. Ford, with more than 20 years of senior management experience in the transportation industry, has held positions with the American Trucking Associations, Lockheed Martin and Qualcomm; he also has been a member of the board of directors for the Truckload Carriers Association, ATA, Louisiana Motor Transport Association, Western Highway Institute and the Illinois Transportation Association.
