Qualcomm, a provider of business-to-business wireless enterprise applications and services, has announced that three technology providers in the transportation industry — Prophesy Transportation Solutions, Profit Tools and RoadVision Systems — have joined the Qualcomm Alliance Program and have developed value-added interfaces to Qualcomm’s OmniTracs and OmniExpress mobile communications solutions. The new partners serve customers of all sizes in the truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL) and intermodal industries.

“Qualcomm is dedicated to building valuable new partnerships and strengthening existing alliances for our customers’ benefit,” says Norm Ellis, vice president and general manager of transportation and logistics for San Diego-based Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions. “Working with partners to extend the value of mobile communications throughout the business enterprise is an example of how Qualcomm is working to help ensure our customers have the tools, information and insight they need to take their businesses to the next level.”

The three new Qualcomm Alliance Program members offer transportation management software solutions designed to address the needs of today’s diversified transportation industry:

  • Prophesy Transportation Solutions is a provider of software, Internet and mobile communications solutions for the transportation, logistics and distribution industries.
  • Profit Tools is a provider of intermodal and multimode trucking software, serving customers who offer intermodal, truckload, LTL and brokerage services.
  • RoadVision by Computac Inc. is a fully integrated transportation management system designed to meet the information and logistics needs of today’s truckload and LTL carriers.
  • Qualcomm works with several providers of complementary technologies through its Alliance Program to develop tightly integrated solutions designed to increase the accuracy, velocity and meaning of data driving our customers’ business management systems. These integrated solutions are intended to help mutual customers to improve operating efficiencies, compete even more effectively in the markets they serve and accelerate their return on technology investments. The Qualcomm Alliance Program oversees the ongoing support and continued improvement of the more than 40 software, hardware and fleet service interfaces installed and operational at the company’s U.S. transportation and logistics customers.
