F.T. Silfies Inc., a regional Mid-Atlantic dry bulk carrier, has hired Twyla Stenger as terminal manager of its new facility in Williamsport, Md.

“We are very excited that Twyla has joined our company,” says Jim Niness, chief operating officer for Nazareth, Pa.-based Silfies. “Twyla comes to Silfies with a great track record in dispatching and overall operations experience, as well as a great reputation for her commitment to drivers. There is no one that could handle a startup operation as well as Twyla, and she has the necessary experience with our computer systems to hit the ground running — and most importantly, she knows trucking.”

“As we continue to build a more solid foundation for our company as we grow, it’s imperative that we hire the right people in the right positions,” says Randy Sheeler, Silfies president and chief executive officer. “Twyla is one of the best I’ve seen when it comes to managing drivers and managing freight, and I’m thrilled she’s with Silfies. She’ll have a tremendous opportunity to grow this terminal, and we’ve invested heavily in new equipment to assist her in every way we can.”
