Sloan Transportation Products says it will open a West coast warehouse beginning in May. The facility, located in Portland, Ore., is intended to conveniently serve customers in Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Western Canada.

“Customers will continue to receive the outstanding service and packaging they have experienced from our Holland, Michigan headquarters,” says Douglas S. Thomson, vice president of sales and marketing for Sloan Transportation Products. “With the addition of the West coast warehouse, we have extended our customer service hours to benefit everyone across the country. Plus, West coast customers will see their package shipping times cut in half and a reduction in shipping costs.”

For example, Thomson says, a 20-pound box shipped from Sloan’s Holland location currently would take four days to reach Los Angeles via UPS. The same shipment coming from the Portland warehouse now will reach a customer in only two days, and the shipping cost will be reduced by nearly $3.50 per shipment. Meanwhile, a LTL shipment to Los Angeles from Holland that normally would take five days would be reduced to two days and would result in a nearly 10 percent reduction in shipping costs.

Orders to Sloan’s customer service center may be placed from 8 a.m to 7 p.m. ET.
