The first Traveler’s Medical Centers opened in the Travel Centers of America truck stop in San Antonio on March 1. The center provides family medical care to the 3 million-plus truck drivers and the millions of people traveling on the nation’s highway system.

Office visits are $60. Patients are seen on a walk-in basis and generally are seen in a matter of minutes. The clinic, open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, offers general medical treatment, chiropractic care and massage therapy, and also provides Department of Transportation medical examinations and drug testing.

The company says it will be opening additional clinics within the next six months in Dallas, Oklahoma City and Troutdale, Ore. The clinics all will be linked by an Internet-based medical records system.
