Utility Trailer says its Marion, Va. plant expansion is ready to meet a growing demand for the company’s 3000R refrigerated trailer. The $18 million, 90,000-foot expansion brings the plant up to 487,000 square feet, all dedicated to reefer production; the company expects to double the plant’s capacity by 2007 and create 150 new jobs.

Utility also announced it now offers Alcoa Mill Product’s Translite exterior, clear-coated, polished aluminum exterior side skin as an option on the 3000R. The company also has made Grote LED lighting standard equipment on all of its reefers, dry vans, flatbeds and Tautliner trailers, while Grote LED dome lights are now options on both reefers and dry vans.
