Access America adds van freight, hires two

Access America Transport has expanded its growing transportation business in Chattanooga, Tenn. The carrier, which has been in business since 2002 and has been operating as a flatbed trucking and logistics company, primarily have handled brick, steel, lumber and other various building materials.

Access America Transport now has entered into the van freight market, and with the addition of Rob Bade and Jeremy Shavers, Access America will specialize in full truckloads, both inbound and outbound. They also will offer warehouse service in the Chattanooga market.

Bade has been hired to head up the van division. He began his transportation career with C.H. Robinson in its Memphis, Tenn. branch, and through new accounts and growing existing business, he gained experience shipping a variety of commodities utilizing dry and refrigerated truckload, rail and LTL modes. In 2004, he transferred to Chattanooga to help open a new CHR branch.

Shavers, hired to assist Bade, has 10 years in the transportation industry with Covenant Transport. His areas of expertise include dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, regional (shorthaul), longhaul, team, expedited, air freight and dedicated services.
