ASA’s latest addition to its heavy-duty audio product lineup, the Jensen JHD1000 Heavy Duty AM/FM Weatherband Stereo, is designed with a full 7-channel NOAA Weatherband tuner in addition to AM/FM radio capability. The JHD1000 — also equipped with “World-Tuning,” which allows for World-Wide tuning operation — features a built-in alarm clock, a 4-channel 120-watt power amplifier, selectable green or amber backlighting, and single-button up/down tuning with seek. According to ASA, if the vehicle battery is disconnected, the JHD1000 can maintain presets and the clock for up to 15 days.

ASA says the unit is designed, built and tested specifically to withstand even the harshest road and work conditions, such as humidity, electrostatic discharge, vibrations and temperature fluctuations. The entire front panel is designed with an impervious membrane to prevent dirt and grime from entering the unit through the pushbutton gaps. The front panel also offers an “aux-in” jack that permits the user to listen to personal music from an iPod, an MP3 player, a portable CD player or any other technology by using the radio’s amplifier and speaker system.

Because the JHD1000 is designed with the basic AM/FM radio options, users are not plagued with cassette or CD warranty failures, thus eliminating warranty claims. The unit also features a wide-angle anti-glare LCD panel that can be viewed from below or above, which makes it ideal for mounting either overhead or on the dashboard, according to the company.
