C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. said that increased demand and higher rates in its truck-transportation business helped spark a 39 percent rise in first-quarter profit.
The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based transportation and logistics company reported net earnings of $58.1 million, up 39 percent from $41.8 million a year ago. Revenue rose 23 percent to $1.5 billion from $1.21 billion last year.
