Mitchell 1, a provider of technical information for vehicle maintenance, service and repair, has announced that the South Carolina Trucking Association has selected the company’s Tractor-Trailer.net Web-based service and repair information database to be used in the service literature portion of the South Carolina Technicians Skills Challenge.

“Computer literacy has become a very important part of a technician’s overall skill set,” says Lee Long, manager of fleet services at Southeastern Freight Lines and chairman of the South Carolina Technicians Skills Challenge. “We are opening our competition to a wide variety of competitors. We wanted something that could be used by all of our participants. Since Tractor-Trailer.net offers a broad database of information, we elected to proceed with the use of it in our competition.”

In addition to being used at the skills challenge, Mitchell 1 has offered a 14-day free trial to Southeastern Freight Lines to be used for their internal Skills Challenge on June 16.

Mitchell 1, based in Poway, Calif., says Tractor-Trailer.net is the trucking industry’s first complete Web-based service and repair information source for all heavy-duty tractor, dry van and reefer makes dating back to 1990. Updated monthly, the product requires no software installation and comes equipped with full-color, fully searchable system wiring diagrams for more than 1,100 Class 7 and 8 tractors, and more than 1,800 reefer and dry van trailers.
