RoadTrucker, a family-owned and run business, describes itself as a virtual truck stop that focuses on truckers and their needs. The online store primarily offers 12-volt products designed to plug into a 12-volt cigarette lighter receptacle, including CB radios, radar detectors, coffee makers, freezers and cooler/warmers; the products also will work in an automobile, the company says.

“We want our website to be more than just another website that sells truck products,” says Frank Oddo, RoadTrucker’s president and chief executive officer. “We offer free e-mail alerts service to remind our trucker and traveler friends about important events like birthdays or license renewals.” The site’s “Trucker Weather” and “Trucker News & Trucking News” pages are updated automatically to help provide important information for drivers on the highways, Oddo says. “We also offer a ‘Free Games’ page to just relax and chill for a bit,” he says.

Plans for the near future include a “Trucker’s Forum” and a “Trucker’s Chat” so drivers can share experiences and tips for traveling and saving money, Oddo says. Free e-books on a variety of topics that might be useful also are scheduled, he says, and RoadTrucker also has a “Humanitarian” page for those wishing to take a few minutes to think about those less fortunate.
