Schneider National has announced it has been selected as 2005 Inbound Performer of the Year by Dollar General Corp., a national consumer products retailer with more than 8,000 stores across 34 states. Schneider received the honor for achieving a high level of on-time delivery as a top volume carrier for Dollar General. This is the second consecutive year the company has earned the honor.
“Schneider is committed to providing clients the capacity they need to compete amid rising fuel costs and the nation’s strained transportation infrastructure,” says Dan Van Alstine, senior vice president of enterprise sales at Green Bay, Wis.-based Schneider National. “Our team worked hard to help Dollar General meet its commitments, and it is an honor to know we have contributed to their success.”
Dollar General works with many carriers to deliver freight from its vendors to a growing number of regional distribution centers located across the United States. The company has been recognizing a select group of inbound carriers for their outstanding performance and customer service with this award for the past four years.
“At Dollar General, we want to recognize the importance of our carriers in fulfilling our mission of serving others,” says Mark Taylor, director of logistics for Dollar General. “Schneider is a leading carrier for Dollar General that consistently delivers superior service in every aspect of the business.”
