Lubricants University, Chevron’s educational website, is introducing a new course, “Fundamentals of Hydraulic Systems,” as part of its online training portfolio. The module — a self-study, Web-based program designed for hydraulic technicians, industrial maintenance specialists and lubricant sales representatives — is intended to increase understanding of system components, lubrication procedures and potential system problems, while reviewing oil performance specifications and trends.

“The new hydraulics course is an efficient and cost-effective way for technicians and maintenance managers to increase their knowledge of hydraulics and value at the worksite,” says John Geyer, grease marketing manager of North American Lubricants at San Ramon, Calif.-based Chevron. “Hydraulic power is extraordinarily important in today’s industrial world. It is critical for those involved in the industry to understand hydraulic principals, maintenance practices and system trends.”

Courses are available to the general public and cost $59.95 each. To purchase a course by credit card, call the Chevron Fulfillment Center at 866-758-2378. For more information, go to www.lubricantsuniversity.com.
