KLLM Transport Services recently donated a refrigerated trailer to the Mississippi Food Network, which the trucking company says could double the organization’s distribution capacity throughout the state.

The trailer — which can haul up to 45,000 pounds — will be used to distribute perishable food and household items to more than 300 agencies and food banks across the state. KLLM also has agreed to provide maintenance for the trailer indefinitely.

“There are so many people with needs, especially with so many residents who remain displaced by last year’s storms,” says Jim Richards, chief operating officer of Richland, Miss.-based KLLM. “The Mississippi Food Network has done a great job distributing food and household items, but they needed another trailer to help them meet the great demand.”
