Kaba Mas, a manufacturer of high-security locking solutions, has announced that Brent Miller, a high-security product specialist, has accepted the position of Western regional sales manager. With more than 25 years of experience with such companies as Medeco High Security Locks, Sargent and Greenleaf and Fire King International, Miller currently serves as senior manufacturer adviser on the board of directors of the Security Hardware Distributors Association.
“The current sales force for our Gitcon series of access control systems for the transportation industry is represented by individuals with a trucking background,” says Steve Pollack, director of marketing for Lexington, Ky.-based Kaba Mas. “Brent’s extensive background in the security arena will be a great addition to our team as we continue to demonstrate our products as the most effective tool for the safe and theft-free movement of goods in transit.”
The Gitcon series is designed to be a comprehensive trailer and container security system that incorporates controlled access and physical security, as well as accountability. Available in either a mounted or portable device, the system utilizes RFID technology to deny or grant authorized access based on any number of user-defined variables. For example, carriers can program transponder cards to only open specific locks, during specified times, or for a predetermined period of time. Once the lock is operated, the system records and stores the date and time of the event in both the lock and transponder to provide an audit trail of all activity.
