First Advantage Corp., a global risk mitigation and business solutions provider, announced that its Transportation Services division has introduced a Web-based service designed to streamline the ordering of driving records (also known as motor vehicle records, or MVR) by businesses employing commercial drivers. The nationwide service, named CDLIS to MVR, efficiently provides license and driving records from all states in which a driver has held a commercial driver license (CDL) — saving employers the time required to uncover and gather this information from multiple sources.

Transportation Services says that CDLIS to MVR — with a single order entry — searches the Commercial Driver License Information System (CDLIS), a national database of current and previous CDLs held by drivers; the report returns information about the current license and up to two previously held licenses. CDLIS to MVR then automatically places orders to those states where CDLs are indicated to retrieve the most current driving record; the resulting report provides employers with more thorough information to assist them in mitigating corporate risk while complying with government regulations.

“The development of CDLIS to MVR augments our platform of offerings and provides an innovative solution to the daily regulatory and risk mitigation pains of a trucking company,” says Billie Lee, president of St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Transportation Services. “First Advantage’s unique combination of industry-leading services gives customers the convenience of a single-source solution from a reliable vendor dedicated to the needs of the trucking industry.”

Other First Advantage services include the CompuNet Credit Report, employment history verifications, standard CDLIS and motor vehicle records checks, criminal background checks, drug and alcohol testing and programs, driver qualification programs, fleet management and more.
