Ryder System has announced that it is partnering with LoJack Corp., a provider of systems for tracking and recovering valuable mobile assets, to market LoJack Systems to commercial truck fleets in an effort to combat truck theft. Ryder Safety Services will be the exclusive online provider of LoJack Systems to commercial truck fleets in the United States through its www.rydersafetyservices.com website.

The Ryder Safety Services website provides fleet owners and other interested commercial parties access to safety- and security-related products, compliance services, training and information. “Ryder looks forward to offering the renowned LoJack systems to extend our range of leading-edge safety and security products available to fleet operators,” says Tony Tegnelia, president of U.S. fleet management solutions for Miami-based Ryder.

LoJack says its systems are based on radio frequency technology that is covert and highly effective – signals can be tracked to locate a truck in a steel container, inside a garage or hidden under dense foliage. LoJack Police Tracking Computers are installed in law enforcement vehicles, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, which police use to track and recover stolen vehicles. “We look forward to working with Ryder to implement an online partnership that will make LoJack easily available to fleet operators,” says Richard Riley, president and chief operating officer of LoJack.
