Decker Truck Line, based in Fort Dodge, Iowa, has selected Gary Moneypenny as the July 2006 Driver of the Month for the flatbed division. Moneypenny lives in Overton, Texas, with his wife, Lisa. He is a company driver who has been with Decker since March 2002.
Selected as Driver of the Month for the reefer/van division was Jerry Staton, who resides in Sac City, Iowa, with his wife, Cathy. Staton, who has been with Decker since August 1985, is a member of Decker’s Million Mile Team, accumulating more than two million miles without a preventable accident.
Drivers and owner-operators are nominated each month by their dispatcher and are selected based on their overall performance within all areas of the company, including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll and billing, and customer service. All drivers and owner-operators who are selected as a Driver of the Month will be eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-Operator of the Year.
