Maptuit — a provider of truck routing and directions, location based services and vehicle tracking and traffic services — has announced the availability of its FleetNav Service Vendor Locator application, designed to allow the professional driver to find, when in need, the best or closest service vendor while on the road.
The new service is designed to provide fleets with a solution that is accessible through the FleetNav central application and tightly integrated with a variety of dispatch systems. Maptuit says the new application makes it easy to track broken-down vehicles within a fleet, and helps dispatchers to identify the best or closest vendor near the vehicle to ensure the quickest and most efficient service.
“FleetNav Service Vendor Locator is yet another way for Maptuit to bring to our customers the information they need the most and in a real-time fashion by providing fleets with service vendor information,” says Erin Cave, director of product management for Burlington, Mass.-based Maptuit. “That vendor data can be a custom solution for each client using the client’s existing vendor information, or a set of data recommended by Maptuit.”
Some features of Maptuit’s new Service Vendor Locator include providing dispatchers with the ability to search for service vendors near a disabled unit or along its current route, requesting directions to and from the vehicle location, and prioritization of vendors based on existing vendor relationships and best prices.
