Yokohama Tire Corp. has announced that because of the rising cost of raw materials, it will increase prices on all products beginning Oct. 1, 2006. Despite efficiency improvements that have partially offset higher petroleum-related material costs and energy costs, the company stated that increased prices have become a necessity.

Consumer tires, medium radial truck and bus tires, and commercial light truck tires may cost up to 7 percent more, and off-road radial and bias tires may cost up to 8 percent more. The increase will be on all products and brands produced by Yokohama, including associate and private brands. Specific details, including in-line adjustments, will be announced at a later date.
