The 2006 National Association of Show Trucks Truck-Lite Trophy Series recently began with the 3rd annual Great Lakes Truck Show Rumble by the River.

Held July 14-16 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds in Monroe, Mich., the show featured nearly 30 show trucks and 8 wash-and-park participants from across the country, each one vying for awards and the chance to qualify for the Truck-Lite Trophy Series Finals.

Robert and Shelley Brinker were the recipients of the qualifying spot and a $500 cash prize. The first alternate went to a truck owned by MBH Trucking LLC, shown by Rick Hitchcock. In addition, NAST gave awards for best of show in several classes and divisions.

All working trucks entered into competition at Truck-Lite Trophy Series events are eligible to qualify for competition in the Truck-Lite Trophy Series Finals, which will be held at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., in March 2007. Only one truck can qualify at each event.

The next series event will be held Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 17-20, at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. For more information, contact Chuck Kemner, NAST executive director, at (863) 605-1608 or go to www.nastshowtrucks.org.
