BorgWarner Thermal Systems fans and fan drives will be standard equipment on all Freightliner Class 8 trucks, beginning Jan. 1, 2007. The three-year agreement will provide customers with a value-added product design, according to BorgWarner.

“We are proud to be chosen by Freightliner as their partner to supply fan drives and fans,” says Keith Pierson, director of global sales for Auburn Hills, Mich.-based BorgWarner. “This confirms that BorgWarner Thermal Systems, in collaboration with Freightliner, has developed high-quality product technology, which is needed to meet stringent EPA 2007 emissions regulations.”

Freightliner Class 8 trucks will be equipped with the Kysor On/Off fan drive, which BorgWarner says features dynamic torque capacity, resulting in improved cooling capability. The trucks also will use the new X-Series fan from BorgWarner, designed to enable heavy-duty vehicles to meet North American emissions standards while at the same time optimizing cooling performance.
